OVERVIEW

A large verdant freshwater river island, this pristine, fresh and expansive place is great for a biking trip. Inhabited by mostly tribals, experience their way of life and unexplored paths that are waiting to be discovered.

Majuli, formed by the Brahmaputra River to the south and east, and the Subansiri River to the west is the largest river island, spiritual in its serenity and guided by the Ek-Sarana-Hari-Naam-Dharma, a form of Neo Vaishnavism. Ride through quiet mask making and pottery villages, indulge in bird watching of egrets and kingfishers, visit the many ghats or travel through more isolated sections of the island.
